The most convenient way to reach the region from overseas is to fly into nearby airports such as Gold Coast Airport (OOL) or Brisbane Airport (BNE). Both airports offer international flights and are located within a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Byron Bay.
Visa Requirements

Generally international visitors are allowed to use their existing driving licences for three months after arriving in Australia, however you should check if any different rules apply to you.
